The Trams lost by a single goal late in the game for the second week in a row. Manager Dickson Gill decided to go for a mainly unchanged side, with goalkeeper Byron Levin in for Francis Ameyaw. Levin was kept busy, saving a few shots at the start of the game. However, Dan Ellis at the other end, didn't have much to do by comparison as Croydon missed that finishing touch throughout the game.
27 minutes into the game, Gundry took on Jamie Atkins, and was lucky to just get a yellow card, and the injured Atkins was replaced by Julian van Gelder. There was a challenge six minutes later, a sloppy one from Michael Craverio, which led to a Rochester penalty. Gundry took it, scored, but was ordered to take it again by the referee. He took it again, going in the other direction, and high above the bar as well, so Croydon were reprieved.
Towards the end of the first half and parts of the second, Croydon did pressurise Rochester, and there were chances from Fray James, Karl Douglin and Justin Hemmings. Hemmings did have a shot on target following a corner after 90 minutes. It was Hemmings however who lost a ball to a Rochester player, running through the middle, and Gundry with no one to challenge him, scored 3 minutes into stoppage time.
The Trams are home to Crowborough Athletic at Croydon Sports Arena, KO 3PM on Saturday.
