If anybody is interested, this is the report I did for the Advertiser. I wrote a longer piece for the website/programme and loaded it up on Monday last week. Probably user error but it has disappeared and the original is filed on my mum's PC in Devon.

Southern Counties East Football League
Croydon (0) 1 (Karl Douglin 56)
Fisher (1) 3 (Billy Walton 29, Junior James 64, Jay Carrick 66)
In a limp performance, Croydon crashed to a 2nd home defeat in a week as they fell to Fisher FC in a game they could have won if they had found any of the form that they started the season with.
The mid-week loss to was perhaps unexpected but Lingfield were a force to be reckoned with and could have done grave damage to any team on their day, Fisher however, whilst looking competent, were not much better that average but were allowed back into the game just when the Trams had levelled the score with a deserved equaliser.
In a sign of what was to come, keeper Francis Ameyaw was soon involved making a smart save to deny Richard Morgan but until the goal the game had plenty of attacking moves from both sides without much penetration. That all changed in the 29th minute when Fisher went ahead with a scruffy goal. After a scramble Danny Maguire bounced the ball off the Croydon crossbar, Ameyaw's attempts to claim the ball were impeded and Billy Walton nudged the ball home from a foot out.
Croydon then dominated play for the next 30 minutes and could have pulled a goal back sooner if they had shown any composure but, in the 56th minute they did break through, Karl Douglin took a quick free kick, played a one-two with Ben Mankelow and rammed the ball into the net from distance.
That should have opened the floodgates but to Fisher's credit they didn't buckle, had a bit of possession and then scored when Junior James was dubiously adjudged onside in the 64th minute. The forward took his chance well though, sliding the ball past Ameyaw with great precision.
In theory Croydon could have got back into the match but it wasn't to be as 2 minutes later, Jay Carrick stretched out a leg in the Trams penalty box and toe ended a shot into the corner of the net to confirm his team's victory.
Croydon: Francis Ameyaw; Danny Akers; Jamie Atkins (James Jordan 69); Adam Allen; Dave Waters; Lauris Chin; Ben Mankelow; Steve Cox (Catalin Mersciu 73); Dan Jupe; Karl Douglin; Rhys Martin (Ben Yiadom 75)
Subs not used: Badar Mohammed; Tristan Toney.
